“It’s unorthodox, highly disruptive, and undeniably intriguing to the art world and the public alike.” (artprize.org)

ArtPrize is an annual gallery art show that takes place in Grand Rapids, MI, each fall (https://www.artprize.org). The city hosts approximately 1,500 artists in venues throughout the city. For three weeks the community is able to view the wide assortment of pieces, voting on their favorite art work. There is a public vote along with juried votes – Sandra participated last in 2012 with a large mosaic and ended up in the top ten! The whole experience is a lot of fun – it’s wonderful to meet with other participating artists and connect with the community.

I am excited to have the chance to be a part of ArtPrize again this year, with a large 90” x 216” mosaic mural. The design is based on an autumn forest in the Midwest and will include rich fall foliage and abundant wildlife.

The mosaic will be showing at the DeVos Place Convention Center (http://devosplace.org) in Grand Rapids – you can see more information about our entry (and browse the other entries!) here: http://www.artprize.org/sandra-bryant/2014/into-the-autumn-woods

ArtPrize takes place September 24-October 12. We will be keeping busy getting everything ready to go, and post our progress on the blog! If you plan to visit artprize, take a look at the great resources on their website in order to plan your visit: https://www.artprize.org/visit. This is a fantastic experience for art lovers and provides a wonderful opportunity to meet artists and enjoy this beautiful city!
